Homepathic Nosodes and remedies are specific dilutions of substances, composed of the smallest microscopic amounts, that stimulate your own body to heal using the law of "like cures like". So the healing is complete from the inside out.

They are tested by "provings". Substances (virtually anything can be made into a homeopathic remedy) are given to healthy persons and all the symptoms are recorded meticulously. Those symptoms are then used as guides to choose the remedies that will help a sick person with the same or similar symptoms using the principle "Like cures like."

How is a remedy made?

To make a remedy, the substances are diluted 10, to hundreds, to thousands of times (depending on the desired potency) via process of taking one drop and adding it to 100 drops of liquid and shaking it vigoruosly (also known as succussing). This process is called potentizing.

Example: a 6c or 30c potency are the potencies most commonly found in health food stores.

Rememeber Roman numbers - C being the letter for 100?   A 6c potency is made by taking one drop of substance diluted into 100 drops of neutral liquid (usually water) and succussed. Then another drop taken from that, put into 100 drops of neutral liquid and succussed and so on... 6 times. This equals a 6c potency.

What is a Nosode remedy? A Nosode is similar to a vaccine in that the actual elements of the disease are used to create a remedy. For example, elements of the flus from 1918 to 2008 are used in the remedy called "Winter tonic".

The elements are so small and virtually undetectable, it is often thought of as a placebo. But Homeopathy is a very effective way of treating all illnesses without side effects. It stimulates the body to heal with its own immune system - unlike conventional medicines that just treat the symptoms of illnesses.
